"เหตุการณ์ในเรื่องเกิดขึ้นประมาณปี 2500 ก่อนลงมือเขียนได้ค้นคว้าว่าช่วงเวลานั้นมีเหตุการณ์สำคัญอย่างไรเกิดขึ้นบ้าง เหตุการณ์โจรกรรมทับหลังนารายณ์บรรทมสินธุ์ จึงสร้าง Plot ให้พระเอกเป็นนักโบราณคดี แล้วหลงป่ากับนางเอก เรื่องราวเกิดขึ้นท่ามกลางป่าเขา และการไล่ล่าจากพวกค้าวัตถุโบราณค่ะ
ในการเขียน พยายามใช้ภาษาที่สอดคล้องกับยุคสมัย และสะท้อนความคิดทัศนคติต่อเรื่องราวต่างๆของคนในยุคนั้นให้ได้มากที่สุด"

สิ่งที่สอดเเทรกไปในงานเขียน น่าจะเป็นความรักของพี่น้อง เรื่องชนชั้น ค่านิยม แนวคิด เรื่องชาติกำเนิดกับคุณค่าของคนว่าสิ่งใดสำคัญกว่า"

"ศัลยเเพท์หนุ่มผู้เก่งกาจ กับรักที่ไร้ศักดินา"

"แรงบันดาลใจในการเขียนเรื่องนี้มาจากคุณลุงที่เป็นหมอศัลยกรรมระบบประสาท ท่านเคยไปเรียนอังกฤษในช่วงนั้น จึงขอคำปรึกษาและชวนคุยเรื่องทัศนคติของคนที่เป็นหมอในสมัยนั้น ส่วนนางเอกนั้นเป็นนางสาวศรีสยาม และต้องทำในสิ่งที่ตัวเองไม่อยากทำคือการประกวดนางงาม เรื่องนี้จึงเป็นความรักระหว่างชนชั้น และสอดเเทรกมุมมองความคิดระหว่างคนไข้กับหมอ"

"เมื่อวางบทบาทพระเอกให้เป็นวิศวกร ในยุคเมื่อประมาณ 50 ปีที่เเล้ว ก็คิดว่าพระเอกควรจะไปทำงานต่างจังหวัด เพื่อไปสร้างถนน และได้เจอนางเอกด้วย สำหรับผม งานนี้ถือว่าเป็นเรื่องใหม่ เพราะเป็นการเขียนนิยายเเนวย้อนยุคเป็นเรื่องเเรก จึงต้องให้ความสำคัญกับข้อเท็จจริงสมัยนั้น เช่น การเเต่งกายของคนไทยสมัย พ.ศ. 2550 และได้หยิบเรื่องสนุกๆในอดีตมาเติมเพื่อสร้่างสีสันให้เเก่เรื่อง"

"เรื่องนี้ให้พระเอกเป็นทหารค่ะ ได้ไปสัมภาษณ์กับนักบินขับไล่สมัยนั้นมาสองท่าน และอีกท่านหนึ่งขับ F16 พอได้ข้อมูลของ สามท่านมาประมวลกันทำให้ได้ภาพพระเอกของเรื่อง ส่วนนางเอกเป็นดารา ซึ่งถูกมองว่าเป็นอาชีพ เต้นกินรำกิน
สิ่งที่สอดเเทรกในบทประพันธ์คือเรื่องของความดี ที่ไม่ได้ตัดสินกันที่ฐานะหรือชาติตระกูล และเรื่องความรักชาติ ซึ่งถ่ายทอดผ่านพระเอกที่เป็นทหารค่ะ"
