If you are frustrated by not achieving the goals you set yourself then it's time to find out why this is so. Here are some ways to make a difference.

1. Look into your future as you would like it to be and notice if you are thinking about what you don't want rather than what you do want. If so you need to change the way you define what you want so that you express this in a positive way and not in a negative way. For example: "I don't want to be fat any more' could change to ' I want to be fit and healthy.' 'I want to stop smoking' to 'I want to breathe clean air and have healthy lungs.'

2. Decide the specific positive action you will take to enable your goal to be reached. That means not only 'I'll stop doing so and so' into I'll start something ' For example rather than 'I won't smoke any cigarettes tomorrow' to 'I'll fully experience and enjoy the smells of the flowers.'

3. Each day imagine yourself being projected into your future life having achieved what you want and look back to how you are now. As you do that and see yourself as someone who wants something but not been able to achieve that yet and notice what the one most important thing you could do right now to start your process for change.

4. Write several positive statements to encapsulate what you want as if it had already happened and say these affirmations over and over to yourself each day so that your mind can believe that what you say is achievable now.
