Why are earth/water/air runes more expensive in comparison to fire/mind/(body) runes on the Grand Exchange? I'm sure that Supply and Demand is not what you are referring to. The Grand Exchange's prices for air, earth and OSRS gold water runes are all higher than the 39 gp. However, the mind, fire and body runes are not in demand as much.
Air runes seem to be relatively inexpensive since (1) runecrafters have the ability to create the highest number of runes (increasing quantity), (2) airrunning is very popular (again growing number of airrunes), and (3) the majority of people prefer an air-based staff over a water/fire/earth/earth staff (decreasing requirement for airrunes). Air runes, however, cost 22 gp and are more expensive that fire/mind/body.
What is the reason why the earth runes and water (37 grams each) more expensive than mind/fire runes? I'm just curious. There are a few reasons. Water runes can be utilized to blast or barrage and are extremely popular in P2P. They aren't very common and can be made by only a small numbers of people.
Many creatures drop fire runes in large quantities. Mind runes are essentially useless. Air runes are those runes that are found in standard spellbook spells most frequently. Since they're almost useless, body runes are very affordable. Vengeance spells are able to cheap RS gold be utilized 10 at a. using earth runes.
