TERA Console Edition Review -- A Faithful Transition From PC

TERA is old. Plain and simple, but just like all games that embody the fun variable that we need them to, age doesn't bring it down much. Tera Gold mixes things up for the genre it is in by including real-time battle with dodging, magical, and many different strikes all functioning like an action sport. Originally released in certain areas in 2011, and also to a wider audience in 2012, TERA has had a lot of time to make its way to being among the more popular MMO's with lots of players still encouraging it. TERA's learning curve is not as steep as many other games in the genre, making it more of a fit in the console universe compared to other MMO's would be.

It doesn't throw too much at you in the start, and also sports a very clean UI that usually makes sense and can get you where you want to go in only a couple of button presses. All these and many other elements make TERA create a lot of awareness for consoles, which I'm sure is a joy for a lot long-time gamers of this genre. TERA is indeed a fun game with a great deal of addicting gameplay loops and grinds that add up to an experience that does not stand out as well as it did several decades ago, but keeps up nicely if you're looking for a neatly organized MMO experience with a good story.

Speaking of story, TERA's lore is really typical RPG-fare. The 2 characters of main focus here, Arun and Shara, titans who wield quite intense power and whose fates became connected in an unavoidable way, or so the story does have plenty of fantastical crap for enthusiasts of the genre to enjoy. Blue hole actually went all out and had too much pleasure when designing this entire world, which is a good thing.

The gameplay is pretty easy-going for quite some time, as you can perform quite a huge chunk of this story missions without a lot of help before things get hard and force you to get serious about the intricacies of the races and classes. But when the difficultly does creep up, it stays there, offering a good, relatively well-paced amount of challenge during. The courses you have to choose from is obviously a fairly good selection, and there should be at least one class here that talks to you.

Though a lot of the character models look pretty good in terms of detail and design, the worlds themselves are somewhat dull in that department, and rarely bring you some layouts or aesthetics that you haven't noticed a thousands times before. That being said, I wouldn't say any of the worlds or dungeons quite cross over into dull territory. They are just... unremarkable. For as detailed and intriguing as the characters could be tera gold xbox, I feel like it is an odd juxtaposition to perform them in this bland-looking world.
