Egypt hit by bomb attacks

Six off-duty Egyptian soldiers were killed with four other men by a suicide car bomb attack on the buses taking them to Cairo on leave from their base in northern Sinai. A car drove into one of the two buses, travelling between Rafah on the border with the Gaza strip and the main town in northern Sinai, Arish, and exploded on Wednesday morning. More than 30 other soldiers were injured. The ten dead included six soldiers, three of their security detail and the driver of the bus that was hit, officials said. "The precious blood of our sons strengthens our resolve to cleanse Egypt and shield its sons from violence and treacherous terrorism," the army spokesman, Col Ahmed Ali, said in a statement. The triangle between Arish, Rafah and the the villages to the south of Sheikh Zuwaid between the two are the heartland of an Islamist insurgency against the Egyptian government.
