Deepak Chopra helps guide Starbucks Generation

เขียนโดย fahummeenudmin
SAN FRANCISCO -- Deepak Chopra is the spirituality guru of the Oprah nation. If Dr. Phil is the shrink next store, and Dr. Oz is the common sense physician for soccer moms, then Dr. Chopra is the spiritual leader for the Starbucks generation – albeit one that Chopra probably wishes was a little less hopped up on caffeine and a little more into herbal tea. Still, it comes as little surprise that Chopra has introduced iPhone, iPad and Android apps that help folks meditate on the go. Of course, you aren't supposed to be moving when you meditate, but the app makes his dream machine relaxation meditation system more portable. Chopra already has a gadget on the market, called the Dream Weaver, which is sort of like an eye-glass gizmo that covers the eyes and shoots flashing strobe light at one's closed eye-lids while listening to holographic sounds, soothing music and Chopra's inimitable narration. The price starts at $299, including nine different programs on disks. Now comes the Dream Weaver app, which reproduces the same effects using the strobe on a smartphone synchronized with Chopra's voice, sounds and original music, " Chopra told USA TODAY in an interview. "The app is a very efficient tool" to meditate, relax and dream instantly," Chopra says. It sells for $14.95, which is pretty pricey for an app.
