Kurosu (Cross), Yuki

As the first year Day Class student and school guardian at Cross Academy, Yuki shows a strong personality. It's known that Kaname saved her on snowy day when she was 5 years old and a degenerated E class vampire attacked her. Therefore the bound she developed towards him is quite deep and important to her being after all, the very first memory she has from a past life she doesn't remember anything about.

Yuki later learns that her gentle savior is a special vampire on his own kind, a pureblood. Although she doesn't seem shocked and quickly dismiss the thought as she thinks it won't change her opinion on Kaname. After all, Yuki feels a huge admiration and idolizes Kaname; she also seems to have a crush on him. However Yuki is no fool, and grows fast as the mystery around her is slowly revealed.

As for Kaname, Yuki is on his own words "her dear girl". we can say he keeps Yuki as her precious ward. Since they supposedly first met Kaname as always kept an eye on the little girl and watched out her every step, she is so important that on several occasions he left the Ichijou's keep and went straight to Chairman Kurosu's house to check on her well being.

A decade later, Yuki being the young woman she is now attires more and more Kaname's attention on the most close to love level Kaname is willing to show. However once more, Kaname is a vampire and what is more important, a pureblood. He cannot allow himself to step closer to Yuki and risk to hurt her... or even curse her forever by drinking her blood.

This one fact demonstrates how Yuki is important to Kaname, although most recent chapters could change this point of view and reveal the real purpose in Kaname's scheming.

& Kiriyuu, Zero

Zero was once a human and raised to be the heir of a notable vampire hunter family until that fated day Shizuka attacked their keep and killed his family as well as bite him.

Relationship is on the way ^^.

& Chairman Kurosu (Cross)

This man has a special place in Kaname's thoughts and heart. It is known that he had some kind of relation with Kaname's parents and to honor their memories he tries his best to accomplish Kaname's dream and his own, to create a bridge that will erase the gap between vampires and humans and finally bring peace to both species.

So far he has demonstrate a full trust in Kaname's although he also kept some secrets from him, a clear example being Zero's vampire state.But of course, he also knew that this hidden fact would not stop Kaname from discovering it and didn't try to avoid the confrontation.

Many secrets still round the Chairman background so many theories have been rumored, one thing is sure though. He was a Vampire Hunter and most probably one of the most capable if he had the chance to meet Kaname's parents. I believe his alliance with Kaname has much to do with himself retiring from the Hunter position ( if he has ever been so ) and his own relationship with the pureblood be it familiar atmosphere or serious talking always take into account Kaname's feelings as much important as his owns.

On the last Kuran head though, his cold thinking makes its best to keep the Chairman as a pawn on his chess game, he is important to him of course but, I can also sense there's something further than what is shown at first glance. In either case, Chairman Kurosu is the second human closest to Kaname's beside Yuki. If Kaname didn't trust him enough he wouldn't have put his dear girl under his care... even if there was no human he could trust after.

& Hio, Shizuka

One of the remaining pureblood Mad Shizuka killed Zero's family and years later took over Kurenai Maria's body to infiltrate Cross Academy and get close enough to Kaname. It seems he knew Kaname from some point in her past although her reasons to chase after Kaname's blood are still blury, the most common explanation is that she wanted to gain his powers and achieve her own plans. However those plans were left unrevealed as Kaname killed her and gain her powers instead.

Kaname did say something at that time that seems to point toward a unique target they shared, although Shizuka mad as she was never spoke out loud about it.

& Ichijou, Takuma

We could say Takuma is Kaname's multi-task right hand and trustfull confident. Takuma is a B-class vampire, in other words a Noble. He is also the Moon Dorm and Night Class Vice-President. With all that on his back don't you think he's an useful and trusty person? Well Kaname seems to think so. Of course Takuma has also been Kaname's childhood friend and the late pureblood shared a major part of his life at the Ichijou household after his parents' death.

There's only counted people that have this kind of background involving so closely Kaname, so it's somewhat easy to figure out the depth of their friendship bound. On the other hand, Kaname seems to trust Takuma enough to tell him most of his plans, and I say most of them because he does have a secret agenda that nobody knows about. However, Takuma is also a pawn in Kaname's hand. It is sad, but logical. When the last Kuran was under the Ichijou's care his movements were closely watched and limited, Kaname need someone to be his eyes and hands, someone he could trust and someone close to him.

He still needs him nowadays but their friendship and mutual acknowledgment is something outstanding.

& Aido, Hanabusa

Although at first glance "Idol" looks like a light-hearted Noble vampire who likes to make trouble, he is also a genius on his own.

However this superior intelligence couldn't make him understand the so called special interest Kaname had on Yuki. Like most part of the Night Class, Aidou has followed Kaname to Cross Academy because of the feeling the pureblood rises in each of his followers' heart but, Aidou is no fool and after the Shizuka incident he might has well turned his back on Kaname, although he didn't. Why?

Well beyond all pureblood-vampire hierachy and formal species standards, Aido met Kaname many years ago. Of course, they didn't share the same experience than Takuma and Kaname did, but this sole fact is already a huge step on their relationship. Deep inside and as it has been shown, Aidou cares for the pureblood.

He knows Kaname is hiding something, something really important and that could put the vampire world upside-down, he is curious about many secrets he may have but all in all, little by little he understand many things about the last of the head of the Kuran clan.

On Kaname's side though Aidou as Takuma is a friend, maybe not as close as Takuma which could be hard to ever turn that way, but he is also a pawn in his scheme. Aidou seems to have already figured out that much but silently accepts it, covering anything that might mark Kaname and stain his position.

Finally, Aidou has a gentle nature. He might give the impression to be a tad too childish and tend to overpass some limits

& Kain, Akatsuki

Also known as "Wild", Akatsuki is Aidou's cousin and together are Kaname's right-hand.

Relationship is on the way ^^.

& Souen, Ruka

This B-class or Noble vampire is in love, maybe since she first met him or she started having feelings toward the pureblood when she entered Cross Academy following the late. However Kaname never met her feelings and barely makes note of them. Ruka however do not lose her hopes and tried to make him fall in her arms in past occasions.

It is important to say that Kaname once drank her blood out of deseperation so he could make Yuki realize what he truly was and at the same time break all her expectations so he wouldn't feel tempted himself to press his own fangs on Yuki's throat. At that time Ruka felt overjoyed thinking Kaname was choosing her but soon after came the realization.

Ruka is one of the many collateral-effects Kaname made following his plans still, she somewhat oblige and stay by the pureblood side knowing she has little to no chance to actually get something more than a friendship. This fact makes their relationship one of the sadest ones in Vampire Knight although it is also satisfying to not see a character like her degenerate and wishing bad to fall on the pureblood.

& Shiki, Senri

Not much has been said about Kaname and Senri's relationship so far. Senri has followed Kaname's path to Cross Academy with the will to help the pureblood and sometimes helps taking care of E-class degenerated vampires as per Kaname request.

On later chapters however there seems to be a connection between Senri's family and an important event round the Vampires comunity, although little has been revealed and I can't really say much more than that.

It could have been included into Kaname's plan to keep Senri close or not, as for their relationship it looks fairly true although maybe not that deep behind Kaname's peaceful fa็ade. Time and later chapters will tell.
