About Thai Girls and Warnings

Hi, I'm just a normal Thai girl living in Bangkok.
Sorry for my bad English but I really want to tell you about this.

Looks like it is some kind of trend for foreign tourists, especially farangs(Western people), to come to Thailand and find a woman (or many women, maybe?)
If you're one of them, I want to tell you something here about women, prostitution, and a bit of my culture. Thailand is not that different from your world. It is just that most of the farang tourists have to go to where the dangerous and nasty things are, because of your money and your ignorance about this place. It's like they said, "Only farangs meet 10 oh-so-pretty prostitute thieves in one day, while Thai men have no idea where to find one in 3 days."

- Of course, we have tons of prostitutes here although it is illegal. Most of the areas that the tourists go to seek pleasure are red zones , and you'll be surprised by how cheap their prices are.

- However, apart from those areas, life is normal. It is EXTREMELY RUDE to go ask every women you see "How much? How much?" like some horny parrots. Really,let the protitutes approach you. Don't guess and ask something like that to normal girls by yourself. (Well, I don't know if it's okay to ask things like that to the women in your country, but you shouldn't do it here. Heavens know how much I want to kill someone every time I hear farangs say that to me)

- Most prostitutes are dirt poor, so there's no doubt they are golddiggers. The same goes for bargirls and the women who approach you, because the truth is, in our culture, no normal girls approach guys first. It's considered low and sometimes can be a scandal for that woman. I don't mean that every Thai girl approaching guys first is always bad, but you had better be careful if you want a real lover, not just some women for fun. Also, most prostitutes have husbands and children, so that's why they came into the city to find more money for their family.

(Well yeah, if you're looking for a real girlfriend, you shouldn't go to the places for tourists in the first place. Everything in those areas are set up to satisfy you. There's nothing real.)

- The funny thing about Thai women is that... well, the women who look beautiful and hot in farangs' eyes are often considered...erm... not so beautiful (...or even ugly) in Thai people's eyes. The woman who have that look know that in their hearts, and they will go after farangs only. I dare to say that they are the typical type of the most successful golddiggers. You won't see them much outside the tourist zones. Don't get drown in the fantasy of lonely Farang guy + sexy Thai girl love stories too much. They are rare cases and the guy is usually filthy rich.

- I'm not sure about this... but I think farangs and Asian people have different viewpoints about prostitution. The women selling themselves in Asian world don't always have to do 'that'. We use women in many ways of service. From the girls who welcome you at the hotels' gate, the ones who prepare your flower bath and give you a massage, and the ones who dance for you while dining, they are all considered selling themselves in some ways. Highgraded prostitites who can service you all of that in one person are very rare and expensive like the japanese geishas, and it is not that you can force them to things your way. They have their pride and fame, and live in a high status. I don't know if your country have this kind of women, so I'll just say that we have many different levels of prostitutes. You can't always insult them the way you do in your country all the time.

- For someone who already has a Thai girlfriend. I know you love her, but don't disgrace her by kissing or hugging her in the public. (Sorry but you're making her look kinda like a prostitute.) Normally good couples in our culture don't even hold hands in public. Guys and girls don't touch each other much if they're not lovers (not even if they are close friends. We just caress each other's hair to express warm feelings). Maybe your girlfriend is educated in western way and doesn't care about that, but her family, her freinds, her colleages, and all her society do care. (If both of you aren't care about that either, then it's up to you. I'm just saying.)

- One interesting thing that is different about your and my culture is about family. Family is very important to Thai people and kins usually are very close. Most children don't sleep seperately from their parents. Thai people normally live with their parents all their lives if they're not married. (They don't have to go out from home at the age of 18 or something like that.) If they get married, the groom often go to live with the bride's family. (or the opposite, if the family comes from China) Nowadays many couples go out to have their own house like farangs but they still have to visit their parents often. When the parents get old, they have to take care of them, or else it will be a huge sin. This is because Buddhism and Asian culture highly value the sense of gratitude to the parents. If a farang guy don't understand about his girlfriend's crazy habits with her parents and her view about Buddhism, he clearly doesn't understand her world at all.

- Oh, one last thing: Be careful when you are looking for a woman. Many transvetites look EXACTLY like girls (and they are super gorgeous too! XD).

Well, I don't know why farang guys desire Thai girls so much, bot GOOD LUCK! Even though most of us prefer Thai men, I do admit that farang guys are nice and interesting in some ways. (At least you won't have more than one wife, and that's make you overcome many Thai men.) Hope you find what you're looking for :)
