Asthma in an individual manifests itself in form of a chronic lung condition that causes breathing difficulties and problems like wheezing and severe cough. Foods which increase the levels of histamines in the body, like processed meat, alcohol and dairy products should be avoided. Herbal and Ayurvedic medicines: These medicines utilize various plants and plant products to cure allergies and asthma. These medicines are safe and do not have the side effects that the drugs generally used to treat such conditions have. Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is also based in the utilization of the extracts from plants and flowers. Essential oils used in aromatherapy are applied to the body, inhaled and at times even infused in the body to control allergy and asthma, by dilating and relaxing the bronchial passages. Meditation: Meditation enables one to relax both body and mind. As one relaxes, one is able to breathe calmly. This prevents hyperventilation which occurs in allergy and asthma.
