When WoW: Classic players first begin their travels on the icy continent of Northrend, they’ll be posed with a choice between two starting zones: the Howling Fjord and the Borean Tundra. Unlike the launch of WoW: The Burning Crusade Classic, players won’t have to flood through a portal into one particular subregion of a zone. Instead, the starting experience for players of both factions will be far more spread out across the new continent.

The Borean Tundra is a hub for early quests in Northrend and a popular location for players representing both the Alliance and the Horde. Some of the tasks that may be started there are listed below. In Wrath Classic, the following is a walkthrough on how to reach the Borean Tundra.

Alliance: Boats to Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra
Alliance players can reach Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra by riding one of the two Alliance icebreaker ships making their way to Northrend. A ship in Menethil Harbor makes regular trips to Valgarde, the Alliance hub in Howling Fjord, while a ship in Stormwind Harbor carries travelers to Valiance Keep in Borean Tundra. These ships can easily be distinguished by their paddle wheels and eagle-like figureheads. Both Valgarde and Valiance Keep feature a full complement of profession, flight masters, vendors and inns, as well as the first quests available to Alliance players in their respective zones.

Horde
Horde players can get to Borean Tundra via a zeppelin just outside Orgrimmar. When leaving Orgrimmar’s main gate, make a right turn and head west until you come across a zeppelin tower. If you’re unsure of which zeppelin tower you’re supposed to be at in order to reach the Borean Tundra, a goblin named Greeb Ramrocket will be standing before the zeppelin port that leads to the Borean Tundra.
