Therefore, the exposed skin should be kept under a tap for 15 minutes and the skin should be properly cooled under running water. There are also chances of our eyes getting exposed to it therefore, while handling this compound it is better to use gloves and also protect the eyes by using goggles.

This is also used in medical field for curing skin diseases and also in terminating pregnancy. It is also used in treating water. As this compound has disinfectant properties, it is used in drinking water to bring down the levels of iron and also manganese. In industries, it is used for cleaning and also bleaching melanin in plant and animal tissues. The florists use it for making the flowers look fresh for a longer time.

In conclusion, though there are many uses, potassium permanganate should be used with utmost care as they are highly combustible and when accidentally inhaled or swallowed might cause internal bleeding and in some cases even death of the person.
