In the candlestick presentation, prices are shown in the form of a fattened-out vertical line in which the range between the opening price and the closing (or present) price is shown as a cylinder. If the closing (or latest) price is higher than the opening price, then the cylinder is left blank, or white- if the closing (or latest) price is lower than the opening price, then the cylinder is filled in black. How simple, and yet how instantly revealing! The effect is truly dramatic when prices are being displayed in real time, such that the operator can see even the tiniest changes in prices exactly as they are occurring. It's a movie! Truly, candlesticks trading comes into full flower when prices are being displayed in real time on the operator's computer.
