You have been considering greenhouse construction for a while and you decided to build a cedar greenhouse. You like the natural benefits of the wood to repel many insects, including termites. You also learned that cedar wood resists decay, fungus, and creates its own preservative and insulation. And the perfume of cedar is very pleasant.

Cedar lumber is needed for flooring, low side walls, and frames. Polycarbonate can be used for sidewalls and roof unless you prefer an acrylic product or other plastic materials. Cedar work benches and shelving need to be considered. Single or double doors need to be considered along with air vents. Plumbing needs for your workbench. Will you use electricity, solar power, or both for the lighting and the greenhouse heating system?

Also, do not forget that you place your greenhouse where it receives the benefit of the sunlight for the types of plants you are growing as well as it is efficient for management of plants to and from the garden. Greenhouse gardening saves your plants- your careful planning will save your footwork.
