Mothers Day is often a day of nostalgia and affection. Some people may have lost their mother, some may live a distance away, others perhaps have had a difficult relationship with their own mother but reflect on Mothers Day on what it would have meant to them to have had a loving mother in their life. Many people enjoy making a fuss of their mother on Mothers Day.
We often want to make Mothers Day really special. It is important to thank our mother and show her how important she is to us, how much we appreciate what she has done for us, how much we love her. Often a mother is more interested in the special people and places in her life rather than in receiving expensive fancy gifts and cards, so finding personal ways to demonstrate that affection is often the most successful way forward.
Finding a picture, a photograph of something that really means something to her demonstrates thoughtfulness and love in a very special way. It can take a little time to get it right. The people and places that she remembers with a smile from her past as well as the special people in her life today often mean the world to her. They are the people she thinks of with affection.
Children often look wonderful in pictures, and often appear natural because they are usually best photographed at play or in their own familiar environments. Some professional photographers will take parents and children on location, to a park, the beach, a play area and take a variety of high-quality different shots in a wide range of situations. And because children grow so quickly it can be lovely to have a picture of their most recent stage of development, especially if they live some distance away and are not seen very often.
Children are also very good at making pictures. They often enjoy being creative and making things, especially if there is a particular reason for the picture. Mothers Day is often a good reason for getting out the crayons and paper. Collages can make a change from an actual drawing- a composite of things from the garden, leaves, dried flowers can all add texture. Any pictures мейд by children often have a special place in people's hearts.
Finding old pictures and photographs and having them re-printed and framed can be a lovely touch. Often nostalgia can be enjoyed on Mothers Day, as it is after all her special day. So choosing old school photographs, pictures of her when she was a girl wearing the fashions of the day, perhaps early pictures of her and Dad or with her parents and siblings, and having one or more of them turned into a photograph or a collection of photographs can be a very meaningful gesture.
Sentimentality, affection and nostalgia are all good emotions to share on Mothers Day. And a lovely photograph can make the day complete.
