It became a LOT less frequent then UNTIL the spot for about a week or 2 prior to the burning crusade. They'd buffed windfury's bonus damage to make it function better with dual wield but if you kept a two hander rather you could end up getting windfuries for approximately 8k+total(such as the snowy hit) on priests with no innerfire up. This was the best time to be a shaman was that one week.
I'm not that educated on these technical details, but to buy wow vanilla gold me, it sounds as if you're stating that the very first versions of those classes and abilities were entirely, outstandingly AWESOME!!! That is to say, it seems that each course (at least each one that you said ) had any kind of totally over-powered ability. But when it was found out about by Blizzard, they'd delete it out of WoW Classic; that, or dramatically reduce the ability of those abilities.
My opinion is that this was the wrong thing to do. This makes each class unique in its own highly special manner. I am assuming, of course, that EVERY course would have any ability that is over-powered. So even though those courses, as a whole, would not be"balanced", at least all classes are balanced together in the specific sense that everybody would get some type of awesome ability.
