The Little Dear Arrives

Once in my younger days I acted in a commercial in which I played a young dad about to become a father for the first time. The girl in the hospital bed (my temporary bride) put her хэнд on her stomach, breathed deeply and said in a gentle voice, "Honey, It's time."

The mood was all sugar and cream and music and flowers and smiles. At the end of the day I got paid.

A couple of years later my wife got pregnant. Like many young wives she probably struggled for the best way to tell me. I don't remember the exact words she used, but I do remember the event. It was the first time in my life I actually felt the blood drain from my face.

Needless to say the hospital scene several months later did not resemble my commercial experience at all. But our first son was here and the joy was beyond all my hopes.
