อันที่จริงผมจะเขียน blog เกี่ยวกับประเด็นของเพลงนี้นานแล้ว (Take Me To Church ของ Hozier) แต่ก็ไม่มีโอกาส(ขยัน)สักที
เพลงนี้ตอนฟังครั้งแรกก็ไม่ได้รู้สึกอะไร และยอมรับเลยว่าฟังครั้งแรกไม่สามารถตีความหมายออกได้เลย ว่าต้องการสื่ออะไร จนกระทั่งเพื่อนร่วมfacebookของผมได้ share MV ตัวนี้ออกมาหน้าไทม์ไลน์
ผมก็ได้เข้าไปดู here ประกอบกับผมลองดูเนื้อเพลง
ก็ได้ความว่าเพลงนี้ลึกซึ้งจริงๆ เพลงนี้ได้เอาความรักมาเปรียบเข้ากับศาสนา
ใน MV เป็นการแสดงถึงความรักร่วมเพศ (ชาย-ชาย) การฝังกล่องก็คือการซุกซ่อนสถานะการเป็นรักร่วมเพศของเขา ซึ่งการที่เขารักกัน(เพศเดียวกัน)พวกนับถือศาสนาจะมองว่าเป็นเรื่องที่บาป จะเห็นว่าสุดท้ายพวกคนที่ขุดกล่องขึ้นมา พยายามจะแงะกล่องออก แต่ก๊ไม่สามารถเปิดออกได้ เพราะมีท่อนที่บอกประมาณว่าเขาก็จะไม่เป็นคนที่สนใจพวกบ้าคลั่งนั้นอีกต่อไป ซึ่งกล่องนั้นคือความรักของเขานั่นแหละ ที่เป็นโซ่คล้องกล่องนั้นเอาไว้อีกที (และเขาก็ยอมโดนยำทีนตาย ไปพร้อมกับกล่องที่โดนเผาไปทั้งๆที่ยังเปิดไม่ออก...)
จะดูตัวอย่างชัดๆได้จากประโยค “We was born sick” กล่าวถึงความเชื่อทางศาสนาคริสต์ที่เชื่อว่า “เราทุกคนมีบาปมาแต่กำเนิด” ความใคร่เป็นสิ่งต้องห้ามและผิดมหันต์ แต่เขากลับรู้สึกหลงรักสิ่งผิดบาปนี้
เพลงนี้โดยรวมก็น่าจะเป็นการวิพากษ์ความเชื่อ สิ่งที่ศาสนาสั่งสอนให้เราเชื่อ ถ้าเราไม่เป็นแบบที่ศาสนา หรือสังคมมองว่าเหมาะสม (ในเพลงคือเขากับเธอคนนั้น) เราจะบูชาในสิ่งที่เราเชื่อ หรือสถาปนาความเชื่อเองได้หรือไม่ ในเมื่อตัดศาสนาและองค์ประกอบทางสังคมต่างๆออกไป มนุษย์ก็คือมนุษย์เหมือนกัน

สำหรับประเด็นเรื่องรักร่วมเพศนี้ โดยส่วนตัวเต้มองว่าเป็นเรื่องธรรมชาติ ไม่ได้น่าเกลียดหรือเป็นบาปอะไร เพราะความรักเป็นเรื่องของความรู้สึก ที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้นเมือไหร่ หรือกับใครก็ได้ และไม่มีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องกีดกัน/แบ่งขั้น/กำหนด ว่าต้องเกิดเฉพาะกับคนประเภทนั้น ประเภทนี้เท่านั้น โดยเอาเกณฑ์ศาสนา เพศ ฐานะ การศึกษา มาแยก เพราะท้ายที่สุดแล้วเราก็คือมนุษย์เหมือนกันอยู่ดี
