When your little bundle of joy is born you suddenly realize that you need ten hands in order to do everything you need to accomplish each and every day. You become exhausted but believe me when I tell you that there is light at the end of tunnel. As your child grows up and begins to understand you and what you do during the day you can easily get them involved in helping you around the house.

The most important thing that you can do in order to get children excited about chores is to always make it fun. Every time they go to get out a new toy have them put the other one back first, but make it a game. Make up a little clean up song, race them to the toy box or something else that would be fun for your child.

Encourage your child to help you whether it is folding laundry, throwing away trash, picking up toys, feeding their pet or watering the flowers. The more you involve them the more excited they will be and the more they will want to try and learn new ways to help.

My little boy is very into giving high-fives to everyone he sees so whenever he does something well and is helpful around the house we give him extra "special" high-fives.

Some parents also use treats as incentives to help convince their child to participate but you have to be very careful because it can set a precedent that they will always get a "treat" if they do what they are told.
